1. Miami Dolphins: Matt Ryan QB BC. He might not be the best prospect, but he should wow Parcells in his workouts.
2. Atlanta Falcons: Andre Woodson QB Kentucky. Who knows what the Falcons are going to do, I’m betting they get Dom Capers as their coach and go with a Qb to build around.
3. New York Jets: Darren McFadden Rb Arkansas. Jones has been solid, but they need offensive playmakers badly.
4. St Louis Rams: Glenn Dorsey DT LSU. The Rams knock down Chris Berman running to get this pick in.
5. Baltimore Ravens: Brian Brohm Qb Louisville. Only if they fire Billick, otherwise, they’ll go defense.
6. Kansas City Chiefs: Jake Long OT Michigan. Have you seen who’s playing OT for the Chiefs?
7. Oakland Raiders: Sedrick Ellis DT USC. Sapp is 35, Sands sucks.
8. New England(from San Fran): Chris Long DE UVA. Seymour might be on his way out with the money committed to Warren.
9. Chicago Bears: Felix Jones RB Arkansas. Cedric Benson..ouch.
10. Cincinnati Bengals: James Laurinitis LB Ohio State. They need to recycle that whole franchise badly.
11. Arizona Cardinals: Kenny Phillips S Miami. Wilson is starting to get up there in years, and they need defensive playmakers. Not the smartest pick, but it makes sense for their style.
12. Carolina Panthers: Vernon Gholston DE OSU. Peppers might be out of town soon, Rucker looks done.
13. Denver Broncos: Frank Okam DT Texas. They couldn’t stop the run even if they tried.
14. Detroit Lions: Sam Baker OT USC. Their oline is the Wreck of the George Foster sinking in the Great Lakes.
15. Philadelphia Eagles: Jeff Otah OT Pittsburgh. Winston Justice blocks as well as Winston Smith.
16. Buffalo Bills: DeShaun Jackson WR California. They need a 2nd WR badly to go with Evans. Jackson is more a mid cross slasher that compliments Evans’ deep threat.
17. Houston Texans: Jonathan Stewart RB Oregon. Good size with great speed. He’s a perfect in the zone block scheme.
18. Washington Redskins: Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio State. The Redskins love them some first round DBs. With Springs basically turning into dust and Rogers coming off a major knee injury, Jenkins starts on Day 1.
19. New Orleans Saints: Calais Campbell DE Miami. They have other needs, but with Will Smith leaving soon enough, he’s a ready made replacement.
20. Minnesota Vikings: Early Doucet WR LSU. Sidney Rice is a keeper at the Y, Doucet provides them with a real X threat.
21. Tennessee Titans: James Hardy WR Indiana. Even Vince Young couldn’t overthrow him.
22. Dallas Cowboys(from Cleveland): Rashad Mendenhall RB Illinois. Julius Jones is gone, Barber might not be fit to be the primary back. Mendenhall is more of a slasher than Barber. Dallas would love to flip this and their natural first for a top 3 pick, but no team will take that.
23. New York Giants: Dan Conner LB PSU. The Giants’ LBs played better this year, but Pierce looks like he’s slowing down, and Kiwi is NOT an answer at OLB. Conner gives them some coverage/run support credibility on the front 7.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers: Gosder Cherlidus OT BC. The usual hallmark for the Steelers is the Oline, and they’ve struggled with that all year.
25. San Diego Chargers: Antoine Cason CB Arizona. Cromartie is blossoming, but what else do they have at CB?
26. Seattle Seahawks: Fred Davis TE USC. While this team might be rinsed out of guys like Holmgren, Alexander, etc—they still don’t have much at TE.
27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Adarius Bowmen WR Oklahoma State. Coming off a bad knee injury, he’ll drop. But Gruden needs a WR with Galloway getting older and older.
28. Jacksonville Jaguars: DJ Hall WR Alabama. If they don’t deal for a fast WR like Santana Moss or Terry Glenn this offseason, the Jags have to go X WR here.
29. Dallas Cowboys: Mike Jenkins Cb South Florida. Newman is around 30, Anthony Henry is turning to dust. Jenkins might be starting very soon.
30. San Francisco 49ers(from Indy): Jaison Williams WR Oregon. Another team that will recycle a bunch of players/coaches. The 49ers need more than anything a WR threat, Williams has that rare combo of size and speed which will vault him into round 1.
31. Green Bay Packers: Justin King Cb PSU. Some character concerns, but the Pack don’t have to push him out that early. Too much value here.
Round 2:
32. Miami Dolphins: Tyson Jackson DE LSU. Big Tuna to rebuilt that defense. Roth isn’t a 3-4 and should be traded out of town. Taylor might join him or play the Elephant role. Jackson shores up their Dline immediately.
33. Atlanta Falcons: Kentwan Balmer DT UNC. The Falcons, no matter what, need some bulk in the middle of their defense. Balmer fits that to a tee.
34. New York Jets: Derrick Harvey DE/OLB Florida. The Jets need pass rusher badly. Harvey is an immediate upgrade on the 3-4 OLB spot.
35. St. Louis Rams: Keith Rivers OLB USC. Versatile OLB who fills an immediate need.
36. Baltimore Ravens: Terrell Thomas Cb USC. A playmaker falls to a team that covets them on defense.
37. Kansas City Chiefs: Chevis Jackson CB LSU. Surtain and Law are getting o.ld.
38. Oakland Raiders: Barry Richardson OT Clemson. They still haven’t fixed that Oline.
39. San Francisco 49ers: Red Bryant DT TAMU. Bryant Young has to retire one day, right? Bryant is a bit of a project, but has major physical ability.
40. Chicago Bears: Chris Williams OT Vandy. Fred Miller and John Tait were rookie in the Filmore Adminstration.
41. Cincinnati Bengals: Quentin Groves DE Auburn. They need a rusher to replace Justin Smith. Groves might be a bit undersized, but he talent and speed.
42. Arizona Cardinals: Xavier Adibi LB Va Tech. With Dansby and Pace potentially leaving via FA, Adibi with either supplement them or replace them.
43. Carolina Panthers: Joe Flacco Qb Delaware. Does anything think that the 4 headed Pu Pu Platter of crap known as Delhomme, Carr, Vinny T and Moore is the answer at QB?
44. Denver Broncos: Dwight Lowery Cb San Jose State. Chump is getting old quickly(how he made the pro bowl is beyond me) and Bly is getting inconsistent. Lowery needs some shaping, but has a knack for the ball.
45. Detroit Lions: Steve Slaton RB WVU. He should jump ship after Rod left Morgantown, and while I question whether or not he’ll be a good NFL player, he might be a good fit in the Lions wide open attack.
46. Philadelphia Eagles: John Carlson TE Notre Dame. If I was LJ Smith, I’d leave Philly also.
47. Buffalo Bills: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB Tennessee State. Amazing physical abilities with a knack for the ball, if he played at Southern Cal, he’d be a top 5 pick.
48. Atlanta Falcons(from Houston): Tony Hills OT Texas. They need help at OT badly. Hills is a polished OT prospect without much upside. He can start immediately.
49. New Orleans Saints: Dre Moore DT Maryland. Big, fast DT who needs work. The Saints will drool over his athleticism.
50. Washington Redskins: Paul Hubbard WR Wisconsin. This is assuming the Redskins flip Santana Moss, possibly for a DE like Alex Brown or 1st day picks(which they would use on a DE). Hubbard is an amazing WR prospect with great size and speed. His production has lagged and he barely played, but the NFL will make something out of him.
51. Minnesota Vikings: Jonathan Hefney FS Tennessee. A bit undersized, but a ballhawk to eventually replace Sharper or Smith. Good value here.
52. Tennessee Titans: Andre Fluellen DT FSU. The proto-typical Cover-2 DT, he’ll be a need pick with Starks and Haynesworth as UFAs.
53. Cleveland Browns: Jason Shirley DT Fresno State. Massive NT who runs an equally amazing 40 time. He replaces Ted Washington immediately.
54. New York Giants: Ray Rice RB Rutgers. Doesn’t make that much sense, especially if they bring in a new coach, but the Giants’ GM doesn’t believe in Logic apparently.
55. Pittsburgh Steelers: Drew Radovich OG USC. Faneca is a UFA, and might leave. Either way, they need even more youth on the Oline.
56. Miami(from San Diego): Mike McGlynn OL Pittsburgh. He can play just about any position on the OLine.
57. Seattle Seahawks: Tom Zbikowski SS Notre Dame. Steltz would be a better pick here, but Zbikowski seems more like their man. Their safeties are meh at best.
58. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Martin Rucker TE Missouri. Alex Smith and Becht have been so-so at best, Gruden still needs a TE to run the pure WCO he loves.
59. Jacksonville Jaguars: DeJaun Tribble CB BC. Great technique and speed, but he’s not big enough to get into the first round.
60. Dallas Cowboys: Lavelle Hawkins WR Cali. TO is getting old and is up for a new deal soon, Glenn looks finished and Crayton is a UFA. Hawkins is a project type hard worker who won’t be asked to carry the team yet.
61. Indianapolis Colts: Ali Highsmith LB LSU. Another year, another group of UFA defections for the Colts.
62. Green Bay Packers: Craig Steltz SS LSU. A major upgrade over Bigbie, he should fit in perfectly with the hard working nature of the Pack defense.
63. New England Patriots: Ezra Butler LB Nevada. Incredible size and speed for a LB, he can play inside or out for the Pats.
