Retrospective Mock

The “In-retrospect” 2007 Draft. What the team should have done and who they should have taken with the pick that they had.

1. Oakland Raiders: Adrian Peterson Rb Oklahoma. Yes, their running game is pretty good with Fargas/Rhodes/Jordan, but this pick allows them to worry less about the disaster at QB.

2. Detroit Lions: Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin. Frankly, they don’t need Calvin Johnson. Their OTs have been nothing short of awful this year.

3. Cleveland Browns: Marshawn Lynch RB California. He’s been great for Buffalo and they need a RB to do something for them.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Calvin Johnson WR Ga Tech. Galloway is mostly dust, and they need a WR threat in the worst way.

5. Arizona Cardinals: Patrick Willis LB Ole Miss. In that 3-4 with Dansby and Pace playing with him, Willis could be even better than he is now.

6. Washington Redskins: Amobi Okoye DT Louisville. The Skins aren’t crying about drafting Landry, but with their return to the Cover-2, Amobi Okoye would have made for a fearsome pair of DTs with Anthony Montgomery.

7. Minnesota Vikings: JaMarcus Russell Qb LSU. Brad Childress is reading this yelling: “NO!!!! GIVE ME BACK ADRIAN!!!!!”

8. Atlanta Falcons: Tony Ugoh OT Arkansas. They need help in a lot of places, LT is a good place to start.

9. Miami Dolphins: Dwayne Bowe WR LSU. Wow, was Ginn a bad pick.

10. Houston Texans: Greg Olsen TE Miami. They need receiving help badly—even with Johnson coming back.

11. San Francisco 49ers: LaRon Landry SS LSU. Michael Lewis(and Clements and Banta-Cain) was a terrible signing. Landry brings some credibility to their defense.

12. Buffalo Bills: Darrelle Revis CB Pittsburgh. Despite the extended holdout, Revis is a real player at Cb now.

13. St. Louis Rams: Levi Brown OT PSU. Goes without saying…

14. NY Jets: Leon Hall Cb Michigan. They really want Revis back, but Hall has been solid on a bad team.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers: David Harris LB Michigan. They’re happy with Timmons, but Harris could be something special in the Pittsburgh system.

16. Green Bay Packers: Reggie Nelson FS Florida. Bigby and Collins have been meh all year.

17. Denver Broncos: Paul Poslusnzy LB PSU. ANYTHING would be better than DJ Williams at MLB..ANYTHING.

18. Cincinnati Bengals: Alan Branch DT Michigan. Not like it would matter with this disaster of this team.

19. Tennessee Titans: Matt Spaeth TE Minnesota. Vince Tamland seems to be better(which isn’t saying much) throwing to the TE.

20. New York Giants: Eric Wright Cb UNLV. Ross hasn’t impressed at all, Wright is a MUCH better fit for their attacking system.

21. Jacksonville Jaguars: James Jones WR San Jose State. Jones has been a real find at WR for the Pack, the Jags could use him BADLY.

22. Cleveland Browns: Joe Staley OT CMU. Thomas has been amazing for them, Staley has been really solid for the 49ers.

23. Kansas City Chiefs: Anthony Gonzalez WR Ohio State. The Chiefs love Bowe, and Gonzo would be great as the primary WR for them also.

24. New England Patriots: Eric Weddle S Utah. Merriweather hasn’t played enough to get a gauge on, Weddle has been really solid for the Bolts.

25. Carolina Panthers: Brady Quinn QB ND. Delhomme, Carr and Testaverde…yeesh.

26. Dallas Cowboys: Tanard Jackson S Syracuse. Roy Williams and Hamlin are probably the worst pair of cover safeties in the NFL.

27. New Orleans Saints: Jon Beason Lb Miami. Beason would have brought a ton of much needed athleticism to the Saints’ defense.

28. San Francisco 49ers: Sidney Rice WR South Carolina. Even Darrell Jackson knows he sucks.

29. Baltimore Ravens: Kevin Kolb Qb Houston. Steve McNair has been renamed “The Corpse of Steve McNair”, Kyle Boller still sucks.

30. San Diego Chargers: Brandon Merriweather FS Miami. They still need help in the secondary.

31. Chicago Bears: DeShawn Wynn Rb Florida. I knew Cedric Benson would suck headed into this season, so did you! And so did the Bears!

32. Indianapolis Colts: Justin Harrell DT Tennessee. With all their probs at DT, Harrell makes the most sense here.
