1. Oakland: Calvin Johnson WR G-Tech. Free agency doesn’t change anything at the top of the board.
2. Detroit: JaMarcus Russell QB LSU. Foster and Backus make Thomas an uneeded luxury, no matter how much they want him. Martz gets a talented QB to mold.
3. Cleveland: Jamal Anderson DE Arkansas. They really wanted Russell here, but Anderson is a good consolation prize. He’ll immediately help a porous defense out.
4. Tampa Bay: Alan Branch DT Michigan. Despite siging Kevin Carter, they still have a major hole at DT.
5. Arizona: Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin. Arizona cannot believe their luck when they see their top player drop to them.
6. Washington: Amobi Okoye DT Louisville. Its unlikely that Washington will be picking here, but they love Okoye apparently. If there’s a deal here, Adrian Peterson would go here.
7. Minnesota: Leon Hall Cb Michigan. They could go anywhere of a few positions here, but Hall fills an immediate need for them.
8. Houston: Adrian Peterson RB Oklahoma. Despite signing Ahman Green, the Kubiak offense loves using multiple RBs and running until their backs’ legs fall off. Green has a couple years left in him and then hand things over to Peterson.
9. Miami: Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame. Its going to be a long NFL season in Miami, but I have some faith in Cameron’s ability to build.
10. Atlanta: Pat Willis ILB Ole Miss. Ed Hartwell was talented, but made of glass. Willis will bring leadership to the defense and will learn the NFL game from Brookings.
11. San Francisco: LaRon Landry S LSU. A real steal here for the 49ers and will team with Lewis for a good pair of Safeties.
12. Buffalo: Greg Olsen TE Miami. They’ll go Rb in round 2, but Olsen gives them instant credibility at the TE position.
13. St Louis: Gaines Adams DE Cletius Uni. I’m not as big on Adams as a lot of people are. He has pass rushing ability, even NFL-level pass rushing ability, but his run stopping ability(or lack there of) will drop him.
14. Carolina: Reggie Nelson S Florida. His stock is yo-yoing, and it stops here. Minter and Williams would struggle covering an 100 year tortoise in coverage.
15. Pittsburgh: Adam Carriker DE Nebraska. He can play either DT or DE in the 4-3 and represents good value here.
16. Green Bay: Marshawn Lynch Rb California. Had a great pro day recently and secured his spot in the 12-20 range. And GB needs a RB in the worst way.
17. Jacksonville: Jarvis Moss DE Florida. Local kid who fills a major need for the Jags.
18. Cincy: Justin Blalock OG Texas. Steinbach was a major loss for the Bengals, and they know it.
19. Tennessee: Dwayne Bowe WR LSU. The Titans WR corps is bad by college standards.
20. Giants: Darrelle Revis Cb Pittsburgh. They need help in the defensive backfield badly. Revis is a solid prospect, but maybe not the smartest move.
21. Denver: Sidney Rice WR SC. Rod Smith has been a legend, but it really old. Walker needs someone to take the pressure off of him and Rice is a grinding Y who will thrive with Cutler.
22. Dallas: Levi Brown OT PSU. A prospect who is dropping fast, but will find a spot in Big D. Davis and him will man the right side.
23. Kansas City: Robert Meachem WR Tennessee. Solid and rising WR prospect who will do well learning from Gonzo.
24. New England(from Seattle): Paul Poslusnzy LB PSU. Vrabel, Bruschi, Seau and Colvin are getting old. Banta-Cain left for San Fran. Adalius Thomas and Poz will be the heart of the new LB corps.
25. Jets: Chris Houston CB Arkansas. Filled their RB need with Jones, Houston fills their other big need.
26. Philadelphia: Dwayne Jarrett WR SC. Losing Stallworth isn’t really the reason nfor this pick, but Brown and Lewis aren’t much at WR and basically are the same style of WR.
27. New Orleans: Aaron Ross CB Texas. They don’t have the patience to wait for McCauley to learn how to play football, so they go with the next best prospect in Ross.
28. New England: Michael Griffin S Texas. They like Wilson/Harrison as their safeties, but Harrison is getting to the end of his career. Griffin represents good value for them here and will be Harrison’s replacement. A WR is possible, but unlikely.
29. Baltimore: Drew Stanton Qb MSU. Not really a surprise, McGahee was a nice start, but they need to add offensive talent.
30. San Diego: Marcus McCauley Cb Fresno St. Cromartie was a decent pick for them last year, and developed nicely, McCauley needs more work, but has a good staff to teach him.
31. Chicago: Tony Ugoh OT Arkansas. A bit of a reach, but Ugoh has NFL RT written all over him. The Bears Oline is very old and Ugoh injects youth into it.
32. Indianapolis: Quinn Pitcock DT Ohio State. Another reach here, but teamed with McFarland makes for a solid Dline.

Leon Hall is not an immediate need in Minnesota. They've got Winfield and Griffin and are in talks with Harper. Leon Hall's stock doesn't merit a top ten pick. Jamaal Anderson has a high bust potential after only one good season, and is a clear second to Gaines.
AS MUCH AS I'D LUV 2 C A GREAT WR AT KC WORD IS BEST DT,CB OR OL. Z
Re: Minnesota:
Hall's stock has shot up since his 4.3ish at the combine. That was the only question mark about him and he's one of the better CB prospects--especially on pure cover skills--to come out in awhile. Minnesota has bigger needs(WR, TE, DE, MLB) but Winfield is 30 now(or will be by the start of the season). Griffin is still a project, and Harper is glorified NB imo. As to Jamal Anderson, he's much better prospect at DE than Adams is. Adams might have him beat in pass rush ability(but Anderson demolished Joe Thomas in their bowl game), but Adams is a major liability against the run and teams used misdirection against him all season long(qed, he's not smart imo). Anderson is the more complete End and can play DE in the 3-4 also.
Seriously doubt the Bengals take a Offensive Lineman in the first day if they take one at all. They need people for every position on defense and on the OL they have Whitworth, Stacy Andrews and Ben Wilkerson who can all fill in on the line. Actually Whitworth will be the one filling in for Steinbach.
I agree 100% that the Bengals needs defensive players(especially at LB), but their recent record of drafting defenders high(first 3 rounds) is spotty at best(I like Joseph, but outside of him its uninspiring), which I think might be because of a shaky coaching staff on that side of the ball. I can see them justifying to themselves that drafting a true replacement for Steinbach takes priority over defense in round 1(especially with some good LB/S/CB/DT talent in round 2). I like Whitworth, I thought he was a steal when y'all took him, but moving to OG might be beyond him imo.
